This unique sanctuary in southern Belize covers an area of about 150 square miles of tropical forest and is the world's only Jaguar Preserve. Declared a Forest Preserve in 1984 and finally a Jaguar Preserve in 1986, the park is the culmination of many years of work and perseverance by individuals and national and international organizations.
It is a superb place for birding, hiking and possible sightings of wildlife can be found here. Being that’s its located with an area of 128.000 acres this wildlife sanctuary many marked trails great for hiking ranging from easy to challenging and of course there’s a reason it’s called the jaguar preserve, even though it’s almost impossible that you will not get to see one these beautiful animals you will most likely get to see fresh tracks from the previous night hunt.
Here you will have lunch and a swim in the river and waterfall.
After having fun soaking up the water and sun, we will make our way for a quick stop at this small but beautiful Butterfly farm we you will have the opportunity to see and interact with many different species of butterflies. Wear a bright colored shirt for a more personal experience since they seem to be attracted to bright colors.
And then it’s time to start our journey back to your home away from home.
